A – APPLIQUÉ

09/12/2011

In high school I was fashion construction program where we learned how to pattern draft do technical drawing, we sewn lingerie to winter coats, my favorite class was fashion illustration since it was my first passion. I did ask my mom for a sewing machine when I was 6 but I actually never got one until I was 16. Shopping for fabric and interning at a fabric store during high school was when I fell in love with patterns and textiles.
Details details…

Applique can be described as: The process of sewing or attaching pieces of fabric onto a larger piece of fabric.

I love the feeling of rubbing my hand againt a smooth article of clothing then the texture changes. Done right applique gives an expensive look and a unique style weather its found on accessories and affordable items of clothes or straight off the runway seen here in Designer, Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012 collection. Gorgeous!
